A look around the Mac East

Ohio Bocats
The Bobcats (1-0) dominated the Wofford Terriers (0-1) on the ground by compiling 230 yards and three touchdowns in what would end up being a lopsided victory as Ohio would win easily, 33-10.
Bobcats’ running back Vince Davidson led the way with 70 yards on 16 carries.
Wofford quarterback Mitch Allen was silenced through the air as the junior didn’t complete any of his four passing attempts against the Bobcats’ stout secondary.
Temple Owls
A late field goal by Owls’ kicker Brandon McManus and a 26-yard fumble return by defensive back Justin Gildea would be the difference as Temple (1-0) edged Villanova (0-1) 31-24.
Owls’ running back Bernard Price would be held in check by the Wildcats’ defense rushing for 75 yards and no touchdowns.
Temple’s quarterback Chester Stewart played effectively going 16-of-27 with 200 yards and his lone touchdown pass went 62 yards to wide-out Michael Campbell.
Bowling Green Falcons
The Falcons (0-1) came short of victory over Troy (1-0) as Trojan kicker Michael Taylor connected successful on a 34-yard field goal with four seconds left to win it for Troy, 30-27.
Falcon quarterback Matt Schilz passed for 221 yards and a touchdown. His favorite target was wideout Kamar Jorden who hauled in nine receptions for 111 yards.
Overall, the tempo of the nail-biter was sloppy as the two teams combined for 26 penalties.
Kent State Golden Flashes
Golden Flashes signal caller Spencer Keith torched Murray State for 275 yards and three touchdown passes as Kent State (1-0) dominated the Racers, 41-10.
Murray State’s (0-1) ended with an unimpressive -65 yards rushing.
Buffalo Bulls
First year head coach Jeff Quinn was treated with a introductory victory as the Bulls blanked Rhode Island (0-1), 31-0.
Buffalo (1-0) quarterback Jerry Davis threw for 302 yards with four touchdown passes while averaging close to 14 yards per pass.
Akron Zips
Akron first year coach Rob Ianello didn’t get the same results that Buffalo’s Jeff Quinn did as Syracuse defeated the Zips, 29-3.
It would end up being an interesting day for Akron kicker Igor Iveljic as his 40-yard field goal would be the only points the Zips (0-1) would put on the board against the Orange (1-0).
Miami RedHawks
Miami (OH) (0-1) came out tough but couldn’t pull off the major upset over #4 Florida (1-0) as the Redhawks fell to the Gators, 34-12 after keeping the Florida offense grounded to begin the game.
