Power outage hit two residence halls Wednesday.

Grant North’s power was reported to be out, said Dan Lingafelter on call Hall Director of Grant Towers.

“Grant North has a power outage and we have no idea why,” Lingafelter said. “They been working on it since 6:18 p.m.”

Around the same time, Douglas Hall also experienced a power outage said Whitley Gould supervisor at Lincoln/Douglas front Desk.

“All of Douglas went out about 6-6:30 p.m. we were told it was something to do with the West Heating Plant,” Gould said.

As of 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, the power was still out at both residence halls with no information on what caused the outages.

On-duty attendants at the residence halls said that Douglas’ power came back online around 8:40 p.m., while Grant North was back online around 10:30 p.m. The cause of the outages are unknown.
