A Sycamore man was killed after being struck by a vehicle in the 1900 block of DeKalb Avenue early Sunday morning. 

Dustin West, 24, of DeKalb was driving north on DeKalb Avenue when Alfonso C. Morales, 34 stepped out onto the street, according to a Sycamore Police press release. Morales was standing on the east side of the road with another person, witnesses said. Morales stepped out into traffic and West was unable to stop his vehicle in time.

Morales was transferred to Kishwaukee Community Hospital, 1 Kish Hospital Drive, where he was later pronounced dead from injuries resulting in the accident.

No charges or citations have been issued, according to the release, as the accident is still under investigation.
