When Lambert won top female honors at both the ACM and CMT Awards earlier this year, her first reaction was “shock” followed by gratefulness. It wasn’t until she embarked on her first headlining tour that the gravity of her accomplishments hit home. As a result, she felt an overwhelming sense of responsibility to deliver a live show even better than the one she was already known for. Country fans will witness that commitment as Lambert headlines CMT’s ninth annual tour.

The nationwide tour will include special guest Eric Church and will also introduce singer-songwriter Josh Kelley to a country audience. The tour kicks off in New York on Sept. 29. Produced by AEG Live, previous CMT tours have featured such superstars as Trace Adkins, Jason Aldean, Randy Houser, Jamey Johnson, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland and Keith Urban.

“Having that Texas club circuit experience at an early age and also touring with some of the best in the business for several years, I know what it takes to bring it every night and give fans more than their money’s worth,” says Lambert. “The CMT tour is a great way for me to thank fans for their support this year and show them I can live up to the honors.”

Church added, “I’m very excited to be on what I believe will be one of the best tours going out this fall. I’ve been on a lot of tours, and this one is gonna be the heat! I love what Miranda does, and we are gonna take the stage every night locked and cocked. The crowd better be ready for it, ’cause we are!”
