NIU Welcome Days introduces students to community

By Jalen Cobb

NIU welcomes students new and old with an array of activities and events for this upcoming school year.

“Welcome Days” began Thursday and will run through Aug. 25. “Welcome Days” is an event held by Student Affairs and Enrollment Management designed to promote togetherness throughout NIU. It is also meant to welcome incoming freshmen and transfer students to the community.

“We…anticipate this upcoming year to be a rather successful year,” said Byron Neal, Campus Activities Board president. “We have a wide array of fun, diverse and [educational] events.”

Some of these include entertainment acts, such as Legend Haz It, for students and their families.

“We expect Welcome Days to be rather popular with the students this year,” Neal said.
