At 12:26 a.m., University Police responded to a report of a battery at Neptune East. Upon arrival, officers saw numerous people crowding the hallway. Officers arrested Marisa D. McPherson, 18, with battery and disorderly conduct. Officers booked McPherson at the NIU Police Department where she was later transported to the DeKalb County Jail.
At 3:47 p.m., Stevenson North staff identified two students in Stevenson who were previously banned from all NIU residence halls. University Police arrived and confirmed that they were the individuals. Officers arrested Donesha L. Fox, 19, and Johnnice A. Stapleton, 19, both of Chicago, for criminal trespassing on state-supported land. Officers booked Fox and Stapleton at the NIU Police Department where they both posted bond and were later released.
April 5
At 12:30 a.m., University Police on patrol in Lincoln Hall overheard a conversation alluding to drinking coming from one of the rooms. The officer knocked and after speaking with the resident in the hallway, was allowed entry into the room. After questioning, the four students in the room admitted to underage drinking and were referred to Judicial Affairs.
At 12:42 a.m., University Police on patrol in Grant South encountered a party in one of the rooms. After investigating, the officer referred six people to Judicial Affairs for underage drinking.
At 8 p.m., University Police responded to a report of a battery that occurred a couple of days ago at Grant South. A male individual refused to accept his girlfriend breaking up with him. During the argument, he refused to leave her room and even restrained her from leaving. The officer referred the male individual to Judicial Affairs for unlawful restraint and criminal trespassing.
