April 17
At 3:19 a.m., University Police were alerted to two individuals who were sleeping in a running vehicle. Officers approached and arrested Cali R. Gannon, 18, of Chicago, for illegal consumption of alcohol. Officers also arrested Sean M. Mcmahan, 18, of Chicago, after finding cannabis and drug paraphernalia on his person. Officers booked Gannon and Mcmahan at the NIU Police Department. Gannon was released on bond, while Mcmahan was transported to the DeKalb County Jail.
April 18
At 1:54 a.m., an intoxicated individual took the radio of one of the Access Control workers at Lincoln Hall. He spoke into the radio and then left the area. University Police arrested David M. McMallum, 19, for illegal consumption of alcohol. Officers booked McMallum at the NIU Police Department, where he posted bond and was released.
April 20
At 10:08 a.m., an individual who was previously banned from NIU property was spotted at Lincoln Hall. Officers arrested Contrea M. Manuel, 18, of Chicago, for criminal trespassing. Officers booked Manuel at the NIU Police Department, where he posted bond and was later released.
At 1:06 p.m., someone reported criminal damage to a vehicle while it was parked near the Still Gym. With no further leads, case is closed.
At 3:02 p.m., a theft was reported at Douglas Hall. Case is pending.
At 8:51 p.m., University Police on patrol in Grant South smelled cannabis coming from one of the rooms. The officer knocked and was allowed entry. The resident admitted to smoking cannabis and consented to a search, which produced a small amount of cannabis and drug paraphernalia. The resident was referred to Judicial Affairs.
At 9:51 p.m., items were reported stolen from a motor vehicle while it was parked in Lot W. With no further leads, case is closed.
At 11:21 p.m., an individual who was previously banned from NIU property was spotted at Douglas Hall. University Police found the individual hiding underneath a resident’s bed. Officers arrested Ladell M. Eaton, 18, of Chicago, for criminal trespassing. Officers booked Eaton at the NIU Police Department, where he posted bond and was later released.
