Jeremy Goeden made NIU wrestling history as the first Division I repeat All-American. Goeden placed eighth at the NCAA Championships in 1997 and seventh in 1998 as a senior.

He also netted First-Team National Wrestling Coaches Association and Second-Team CoSIDA Academic All-America with a 3.65 GPA.

Goeden won back-to-back MAC titles and went 32-3-4 his senior year, accompanied by an 11-4-3 record his junior season.
