Letter to the Editor: Library rudeness was blown out of proportion

By LETTER WRITER

This is a response to Mr. Ippolito’s letter to the editor from Monday. I am sick and tired of all this bellyaching of how respect and common courtesy are no more. I imagine that Mr. Ippolito probably had one bad experience and he feels that he has to let everyone know about it. I have spent a good amount of time at the library this semester and have never experienced rampant rudeness as described from the letter the other day. Do situations like that arise? Yes, they occasionally do, but I would suggest, instead of writing a letter to the editor that does not accomplish anything, ask the person to stop doing whatever it is they are doing which is disruptive. You will find out that most people are quick to realize that they were in the wrong and will apologize. So can we please stop this open dislike of NIU and make some effort on our own behalf to make this a better place to learn?
