University Police Blotter: April 3

At 1:32 a.m., University Police on patrol on the 11th floor of Grant Tower A were interrupted by loud banging from the crash door. The officer found two students who claimed something from the 11th or 12th floor broke their window pane on the 10th floor. The officer confirmed that their window pane on the 10th floor was broken. After investigating, the officer learned that someone had accidentally knocked an 18 oz. jar of jelly out the window, breaking the students’ window pane on the 10th floor. The offending subject was referred to Judicial Affairs for damage to property.

April 1

At 9:16 p.m., University Police responded to a report of domestic battery at Douglas Hall. Upon investigating, the officer learned that the call was a false police report. Case is pending.

At 9:32 p.m., University Police responded to a report of a possible fight at Northern View Community. Upon arrival, officers found three female subjects arguing. The officers learned the females were previously banned from all NIU residence halls. All three females were referred to Judicial Affairs.

At 9:32 p.m., a victim reported a 6-inch dent in the rear passenger door when it was parked in Lot W. With no further leads, case is closed.

At 10:16 p.m., University Police responded to a report of domestic battery at Neptune East. Upon arrival, officers found two individuals were involved in a fight that resulted in minor physical injuries. Officers arrested Tarez M. Williams, 19, of Machesney, for domestic battery. Officers booked Williams at NIU Police Department, where they later transported Williams to the DeKalb County Jail.

At 11:12 p.m., a theft was reported at Lincoln Hall. Case is pending.
