Northern Illinois gymnast Holly Reichard was named the Mid-American Conference Co-Gymnast of the Week Tuesday by the league office.

Reichard, who is from Palatine, earned her second award of the season after winning the all-around competition with a score of 38.600 in the Huskies’ 192.925-191.300 victory over conference foe Ball State on Sunday. Reichard is the MAC leader in all-around competition.

Reichard also picked up individual event wins on the floor exercise and vault versus Ball State. She scored a 9.825 on the floor exercise, while her 9.775 topped all gymnasts on the vault.

Reichard was previously named MAC Gymnast of the Week Jan. 13 after the Huskies defeated Bowling Green, while teammate Natalie Blum, who is from Homer Glen, earned Specialist of the Week honors Jan. 27.

Currently the Huskies are 3-0 on the season after three wins over MAC competition.

The Huskies will be traveling the next two weeks as they prepare to take on Illinois-Chicago and Seattle Pacific in nonconference action Friday in Chicago before returning to MAC competition Feb. 20 at Central Michigan.
