Feb. 23

At 3:33 p.m., a victim reported someone stole money from him at Grant South. University Police recovered the missing money and identified the offender, but the victim did not wish to file a complaint. Case is closed.

At 8:04 p.m., University Police investigated a report of drug paraphrenalia at Lincoln Hall. Officers interviewed a resident, who allowed the officer to search his room. During his search, the officer found a pipe and put it into evidence. Case is closed.

At 10:27 p.m., University Police identified a person who was banned from all NIU property at the Holmes Student Center. Officers identified and arrested Steven A. Starnes, 19, of Chicago, for criminal trespassing. Officers transported Starnes to the NIU Police Department, where he posted bond and was later released.

Feb. 24

At 7:06 p.m., University Police investigated a report of a battery at Grant North. A female student arguing with her male floormate punched him in the face. Officers arrested Mariah Gray, 19, of Chicago for battery. Officers booked Gray at the NIU Police Department, where she posted bond and was later released.

At 8:28 p.m., a victim reported someone damaged the mirror on his vehicle while it was parked at Lot P. Case is closed.
