University Police Blotter: Monday, Jan. 12

Dec. 8

• University Police responded to a fight at Stevenson Towers. The victim was punched in the face, but refused treatment and was given a domestic violence packet. Officers arrested Camille N. Shabazz, 18, of Chicago, for domestic battery. Officers booked Shabazz at the NIU Police Department, where she was transported to DeKalb County Jail.

Dec. 11

• University Police investigating book buy backs detained a subject at the Holmes Student Center. Officers arrested Reynaldo Salas, 31, of Chicago, for attempting to sell stolen books back to the University Bookstore. Officers booked Salas at the NIU Police Department, where he was transported to DeKalb County Jail.

Dec. 31

• A person appeared at the DeKalb County Courthouse claiming he was never pulled over for a citation by the University Police on April 20. It was determined that the person’s brother was cited and used his information. Case is pending.

Jan. 6

• University Police responded to a report of graffiti on a wall in the Douglas Hall men’s room. Case is closed.
