At 11:23 p.m., residents of Neptune East reported that a boyfriend of one of the students was pounding on a door so loudly that it was alarming and disturbing the residents inside. Case is pending.
Jan. 25
At 3:41 a.m., an individual who was previously banned from the residence halls for 24 hours attempted to enter Grant South. The access control workers (the people who are responsible for checking people into the residence halls after 11 p.m.) notified the University Police. As the officer approached the door into Grant South, the banned individual struck the access control worker. The officer arrested Samuel A. Duncan, 19, of Henderson, Nev., for battery, criminal trespassing and resisting arrest. The officer booked Duncan at the NIU Police Department, where he was later transported to DeKalb County Jail.
At 4:34 a.m., University Police arrested Terrence U. Thruman, of Chicago, for disorderly conduct. Thruman allegedly was irate, yelling and displaying erratic behavior. Officers booked Thruman at the NIU Police Department, where he posted bond.
