Jan. 15

• At 9:35 a.m., University Police responded to a report of graffiti at the Convocation Center. Someone had sprayed graffiti on the men’s bathroom stalls. Case is closed.

Jan. 16

• At 9:44 a.m., University Police responded to a report of criminal damage to state property in Grant South. Someone had broken the windows in one of the lounges. Officers investigated and found five students were involved in the incident. One student was referred to Judicial Affairs for criminal damage to state property while the other four were referred for unlawful consumption of alcohol.

Jan. 17

• At 1:40 a.m., an intoxicated woman was found on the floor of the women’s bathroom at the Recreation Center. She was conscious and breathing, but she could not stand up on her own. She was transported to Kishwaukee Hospital by ambulance. A third-time offender, the woman was referred to Judicial Affairs for unlawful consumption of alcohol.

• At 3:18 a.m., University Police on patrol noticed a large crowd that appeared to be in a verbal altercation outside Grant South. As officers attempted to break up the crowd, one individual started pushing bystanders to strike another person. Officers ordered the individual to stop, but the individual refused and attempted to push the officers away to get to the person. Officers arrested Darius L. Perkins, 20, of Chicago, for obstructing and resisting a peace officer. Officers booked Perkins at the NIU Police Department, where he posted bond and was released.

• At 10:41 a.m., University Police responded to the lobby of Grant Hall on a report of criminal sexual assault that occurred Jan. 17.

• At 7:28 p.m., University Police responded to the lobby of Douglas Hall on a report of criminal sexual assault that occurred Jan. 17.
