At 10:38 p.m., University Police found prescription medication in another resident’s possession while performing a consent search in Grant North. The resident was referred to Judicial Affairs.
Dec. 5
At 9:55 a.m., University Police patrolling Lot X found a vehicle with the driver’s side window broken. The owner of the vehicle said she locked her vehicle, and that nothing appeared to be missing. There are no leads or suspects. Case is closed.
At 3:21 p.m., security at Founders Memorial Library reported a theft of a painting taken from the third floor. It is unknown when the painting was stolen. Case is pending.
At 10:40 p.m., University Police came into contact with four students with regard to an obnoxious odor at Douglas Hall. They were referred to Judicial Affairs for cannabis possession.
Dec. 6
At 12:39 a.m., University Police patrolling Grant South noticed an underage resident with a bottle of vodka in his possession. The resident attempted to hide the vodka and denied having alcohol in his room. Officers arrested Terrance D. Jefferson, 18, of Chicago, for unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor. Officers booked Jefferson at the NIU Police Department, where he posted bond and was released.
