Nov. 16
At 12:56 a.m., University Police recognized an individual attending the dance at the Recreation Center as having a warrant for his arrest. Officers arrested Jeremiah Boykin, 20, of Chicago, for forgery. Officers booked Boykin at the NIU Police Department, where he was transported to the DeKalb County Jail.
At 5:05 a.m., a criminal sexual assault was reported in the vicinity of the eastern end of the Lagoon. Case is pending.
Nov. 17
At 12:15 a.m., University Police arrived at Barsema Hall to investigate criminal damage to property. Someone broke the glass on a vending machine to get his items out. The officer secured the remaining items in the machine. Case is pending.
At 7:08 p.m., two individuals were reported displaying aggressive verbal behavior towards another resident at Stevenson Towers’ dining area. The individuals were referred to Judicial Affairs.
At 7:51 p.m., the theft of a debit card was reported at Grant South. A relative of the card owner was informed of multiple attempts to use the card. The relative notified the card owner who was unaware of the card’s theft and had it deactivated. Case is pending.
At 8:25 p.m., a victim reported that someone took cash out of her closet in her unlocked room in Grant North between 9 p.m. and midnight on Nov. 16. The victim reported several people had traveled in and out of the room during that the time period and has no idea who took the money. Case is closed.
