• At 2:26 a.m., victim reported being struck on the shoulder while using the elevator at Grant South. The offender, who had previously attacked the victim on Oct. 29, punched the victim in the face again while using the elevator at Grant South. University Police advised the offender to avoid all contact with the victim. The case was referred to Judicial Affairs.
• At 12:34 p.m., victim reported someone took his bike from the exterior of Neptune West. The bike was unlocked. Upon interviewing residents at the time of the incident, it was clear no one saw the theft. Case is closed.
• At 1:10 p.m., a purse was found at Founder’s Library. While searching for identification in the bag, two bags of what appeared to be cannabis were found inside. University Police arrested Kathryn E. Panger, 20, of South Elgin, for possession of under 30 grams of cannabis when she arrived to claim the purse. Officers booked Panger at the NIU Police Department, where she posted bond and was released.
• At 7:06 p.m., University Police responded to a report of cannabis emanating from a room in Grant North D-Tower. Officers knocked on the suspected room’s door and were allowed to enter. Upon questioning the inhabitants, one individual admitted to possessing cannabis and drug paraphrenelia. Officers arrested Eric R. Obrecht, 18, of Wayne for possession of under 30 grams of cannabis and drug paraphrenanlia. Officers booked Obrecht at the NIU Police Department, where he posted bond and was released.
