Four James Bond ready actors
November 18, 2008
Daniel Craig isn’t the only Bond-ready actor out there.
Perusing through msn.com, I stumbled across the headline “The Men Who Could Have Been Bond.”
Without looking at their list, I made my own. Compare the two, if you wish, or just enjoy the eye candy.
1. Clive Owen – The Brit was reportedly approached for the part of 007 but nixed the offer. Still, with his natural swagger and scruffy English looks, Owen would have fit the bill better than Pierce Brosnan, while bringing the roughness of Daniel Craig.
2. Christian Bale – He’s from Wales, so going English for the part wouldn’t be a huge stretch. However, having already starred in “The Dark Knight,” the Bond franchise would have been deprived some of its “wow” factor coming in Batman’s coattails.
3. Colin Farrell – Maybe this is a stretch, but the Irishman has a natural brood to him that would fill out Bond’s “hired gun” persona. Perhaps as he gets older, he’ll even start to look like a Bond. Give him five years.
4. Hugh Jackman – Already a favorite with the ladies, Jackman exhibits the cheeky charisma required of any Bond actor. While less extreme than Roger Moore, when or if Bond goes back to being more playful than raw, Jackman would be a good pick.
