University Police Blotter: Oct. 28

Sept. 28

At 10:35 a.m., victim reported someone took his laptop from his room in Stevenson North. A photo line up was conducted on Oct. 24, but no offenders were identified. Case is closed.

Oct. 7

At 4 p.m., complainant reported someone took an NIU-owned laptop from a classroom in Wirtz Hall. The laptop has not been recovered. Case is closed.

Oct. 25

At 2:17 p.m., University Police referred an individual to Judicial Affairs for unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor.

At 7:55 p.m., a domestic battery was reported at Stevenson South. A woman was in a verbal altercation with her boyfriend which resulted in the boyfriend being hit in the head with a bottle of shampoo. The hit resulted in injuries that required medical attention. University Police arrested Tiffany Y. Wallace, 19, of Chicago, for domestic battery. Officers booked Wallace at the NIU Police Department, who was then transported to DeKalb County Jail. The victim received medical attention.

Oct. 26

At 3:04 a.m., University Police patrolling the 1100 block of Twombly Ave. noticed a vehicle driving with no headlights on. Officers pulled the car over, and found that the driver showed signs of alcohol consumption. Field sobriety tests determined he was intoxicated. Officers arrested Jeremy D. Toufar, 22, for driving under the influence. Officers booked Toufar at the NIU Police Department, where Toufar relinquished his license and $100 in exchange for being released.

At 3:30 a.m., University Police noticed graffiti on two traffic signs on Lucinda Ave. Case is pending.
