Thunderstix are back again

“You were loud when we needed you to be – now two weeks in a row,” said NIU head football coach Jerry Kill in a mass campus e-mail. “Because of your continued support, we are building something special together.”

Kill believes the team and its fans have built an impressive 3-0 home record for the Huskies in 2008.

The former Southern Illinois head football coach asked fans to bring the noise to the big game against Bowling Green this Saturday at 3 p.m. In fact, he even said TCF is helping the team by providing 4,000 pairs of Thunderstix to the team’s fans.

This is exactly what I want to see from the new head coach. He is putting in the effort to get students out to the games to support the team. If Jerry Kill wants us to be loud, I say we get loud and watch the Huskies successfully defend their home field once again.
