Five entertainment items worth your time in October

By HEATHER SKRIP

October seems to be a rather slow month this year for the entertainment industry. However, I was able to pick out a five items that seem like they’ll be the highlight of the month.

1) Oasis – “Dig Out of Your Soul” (10/7)

The bickering brothers and company are putting out another album. As long as the British rockers make this album as good as “Definitely Maybe” and “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?,” it’s sure to be a hit.

2) Rise Against – “Appeal to Reason” (10/7)

Rise Against continually proves that not every album that follows a success story has to be horrible. The Chicago-based alternative band stays true to their sound and their beliefs, all while putting out albums that please their fans.

3) “Lion Among Men (Wicked Years Series #3)” by Gregory Maguire (10/14)

What started off as a dark novel, became a phenomenon. Even after the play is through, the series will remain. Sinister plots make the unpredictable series worth reading.

4) “Pride and Glory” (10/24)

Edward Norton and Colin Farrell, who could ask for a better duo? The trailers tell of a movie that will be action-filled, along with an amazing plot. This is sure to be one of the best films of the fall.

5) “Zack and Miri Make a Porno” (10/31)

Another Seth Rogen movie with an odd story line. It’s been a while, but this film is sure to amuse, just as “Superbad” and “Pineapple Express” did.
