Oct. 8
• At 11:08 p.m., victim reported someone took her laptop from the Grant South Dining Hall. On Oct. 16, case is closed.
Oct. 14
• At 4:40 p.m., victim reported someone shattered the rear window of her vehicle in Lot PS. Case is closed.
• At 6:06 p.m., victim reported someone took her cell phone from the Grant South Dining Hall. Case is pending.
Oct. 15
• At 12:28 a.m., victim reported receiving several electronic messages of a harassing nature. Case is pending.
• At 1:46 a.m., victim reported receiving a harassing message on Facebook in Douglas Hall. Case is pending.
• At 9:45 a.m., University Police responded to Founders’ Memorial Library on a report of a banned individual in the library. Upon arrival, officers identified and arrested Kameel D. Simmons, 23, of Bellwood, for trespassing on state property. Simmons was found to have been banned from all NIU property previously. Officers booked Simmons at the NIU Police Department, where he was later transported to DeKalb County Jail.
• At 11 p.m., victim noticed his NIU OneCard was missing. On Oct. 16 at 9:50 p.m., the victim checked the transaction history and saw someone had used his card to purchases three sodas from a vending machine in Lincoln Hall. Video footage during the time the OneCard was used to identify the offender. The victim did not want to press charges. The offender was referred to Judicial Affairs.
Oct. 16
• At 10:15 a.m., victim reported receiving a harassing phone call by cell phone while at the Music Building. Case is closed.
• At 12:47 p.m., University Police responded to a report of drug use at Grant North. Upon investigating, officers arrested Clayton E. Leveille, 18, of Belvidere, for 30 grams of cannabis and a drug pipe.
• At 8:21 p.m., victim reported someone took his bicycle from the Graham Hall bike rack from 3:45 to 8:10 p.m. The bike was not secured to the rack. Case is pending.
Oct. 17
• At 1 p.m., victim reported receiving a text message that was harassing in nature. Case is closed.
• Between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., a victim reported someone took their laptop, an Xbox game console and four game DVDs from their room in Grant North. Case is pending.
