Sept. 2
Credit card fraud between 8:45 p.m. and 12:49 a.m. at Grant North. A person found an NIU OneCard by the Grant South C elevator and later used the card to purchase two soft drinks from a vending machine in the lobby of Grant North. The victim was reimbursed and did not wish to file charges. Although the offender was not an NIU student, the student who was hosting the offender was referred to Judicial Affairs.
Sept. 5
Theft over $300 between 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 5 and 1 p.m. on Sept. 7 at Lincoln Hall. Student noticed that their bike was missing from the bike rack. Case is administratively closed.
Sept. 8
Theft of lost or mislaid property between 3 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Holmes Student Center. Person found NIU OneCard and used it to purchase several soft drinks from the vending machine. Surveillance footage identified the offender, who was referred to Judicial Affairs.
Sept. 11
Motor vehicle theft between 2 p.m. on Sept. 11 and 7 a.m. on Sept. 12 at Lot 31 near Huskie Stadium. A blue Avanti 50cc moped was stolen. Case is pending investigation.
Sept. 12
Possession of cannabis 30 grams and under at 1:30 a.m. in Grant South. An officer doing a building check was riding the elevator when a person boarded the elevator with a blunt in their hand. The officer inquired about it, and learned that it was marijuana. The offender was referred to Judicial Affairs.
Theft over $300 between 12 p.m. on Sept. 4 and 12 p.m. on Sept. 8 at National Bank and Trust at 3rd and Locust. An LCD projector was taken from the bank’s conference room. Case is pending investigation.
Domestic battery between 6:40 p.m. on Sept. 12 and 6:43 p.m. on Sept. 13 at Grant South. Police responded to an allegation of battery between a boyfriend and a girlfriend. One party was not on the scene when the police arrived; the other party did not wish to file a complaint. Case is pending investigation.
Sept. 13
Possession of cannabis 30 grams and under at 10:23 p.m. at Stevenson South. Officer was on a building check in Stevenson South when the officer smelled cannabis coming from one of the rooms. Upon investigating, the suspect did possess a small amount of cannabis and paraphernalia. The suspect was referred to Judicial Affairs.
