Aug. 28
• A residential burglary involving an iPod was reported at 7 p.m. on Aug. 28 at Grant South. Case is pending investigation.
Sept. 2
• Credit card fraud involving an NIU OneCard between 12:01 and 12:49 a.m. on Sept. 2 at Grant North. Victim had searched area for card until checking the OneCard Web site, where it was discovered transactions had been made on it. Case is pending investigation.
Sept. 3
• Possession of cannabis 30 grams and under at 10:23 p.m. on Stevenson Drive North. University Police pulled over a car that was driving without its lights on. The officer detected the odor of cannabis and asked the driver’s permission to search the vehicle. The driver granted permission, and the officer searched the vehicle, finding a small bag of cannabis. The case was cleared as the driver was referred to Judicial Affairs.
• On Sept. 3 between 10 p.m. and 12:04 a.m., security patrolling the perimeters of parking lots J and F spotted two persons using cannabis. University Police were called. Officer approached the persons and asked if had they been using cannabis and if they had any more. The persons admitted to using while only one of them admitted to carrying additional cannabis. The cannabis found on the person amounted to less than five grams. University Police later destroyed the contraband. The case was cleared as the persons were referred to Judicial Affairs.
