University Police Blotter: Sept. 25

Sept. 20

Illegal possession by minor at 1:26 p.m. at Huskie Stadium. Police found a juvenile in possession of alcohol during tailgating. The juvenile was released back to the family without charge.

Theft $300 and under between 5:30 and 7 p.m. at the Recreation Center. Person reported someone had taken her bicycle from the exterior of the Recreation Center. Case is pending investigation.

Sept. 22

Theft $300 and under between 9 and 9:05 a.m. at the Psychology Computer Building. Person reported someone had taken her textbook. Case is pending investigation.

Theft over $300 between 7:30 and 9:14 p.m. at Still Gym. Person reported someone had taken a LCD monitor that is owned by NIU. Case is pending investigation.

Harassment by telephone between 12:36 and 7:24 p.m. at Grant South. Person reported receiving several phone calls of a harassing and threatening nature from an unknown caller. Case is pending investigation.

Sept. 23

Criminal damage to property between 4:30 and 6 p.m. at the Recreation Center. Person reported someone caused damage to her vehicle while it was parked in Lot 15E. The damage consisted of a large dent on the rear quarter panel of the passenger side. Case is closed pending new leads.

Theft $300 and under at 5:50 p.m. at Lincoln Hall. Person reported someone had taken her iPod and items of clothing from her room. Case is pending investigation.

Theft $300 and under between 9 and 10:14 p.m. at University Plaza North. Person reported someone had taken his bicycle. Case is pending investigation.

Illegal consumption by minor, criminal damage to property, and resisting a peace officer between 4 and 4:45 a.m. at Grant South. Police responded to a report of a disorderly and intoxicated person outside Grant South. The person was verbally combative toward officers. Arrested was Christopher M. McGuane, 20, of Aurora, for unlawful consumption of alcohol. McGuane was transported to the NIU Police Department for booking. Once there, McGuane became physically combative with officers and caused damage to an NIU-owned printer. McGuane was also charged with criminal damage to property and resisting a peace officer. McGuane was transported to DeKalb County Jail.
