Matt Paul posesses librertarian values

By LETTER WRITER

I find Matt Paul’s so-called “libertarian” views not as questionable as Ted McCarron does. Like he, I enjoy the economic policies of the right as well as some of the social programs of the left. In response to Matt being anti-religious, I think Matt portrays the image of a secularist. Anyone has a right to believe in whatever religion they choose, but when religion tries to take power in government, it betrays what our country was founded on, and that is secularism. In addition, evolution is a theory, but so is gravity. Evolution is a virtually undisputed reality in the scientific field, and the people who push creationism are usually those with a religious agenda. I have nothing against the freedom of religion, but when years of modern research conflict with Bronze Age books, something has to go.
