Ellington’s, the student-run restaurant on the main level of the Holmes Student Center, will feature “Arabian Nights” today from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The menu includes:

Choice of either red lentil soup or lebanese tabouleh salad

Choice of either shawarma or stuffed grape leaves

Choice of either sfouf or macerated apricots and nuts

Each table will be served hummus and pita bread. The cost is $8 and includes a drink and tip.

Car basics will be taught to any interested female at Lot J, east of Grant Hall, between 5 and 6 p.m. today. Sponsored by the Women’s Resource Center, the event will teach the need-to-know basics in order to maintain a vehicle. Checking fluid levels, changing a tire and jumping a dead battery will be featured, among others.

As part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Health Enhancement is sponsoring a display in the Wirtz Hall lobby from 5 to 7 p.m. today. Clothesline Project is a display of t-shirts made by survivors of sexual assault who tell their stories through expressions of art. For more information, call Lincoln Gibbs at 815-753-9767.

Google Maps has added the NIU and DeKalb areas to its street view feature. Users can go to www.google.com/maps and type in “DeKalb” and then click “Street View” to travel through the streets of the town from ground level. The feature began with larger cities like New York, San Fransisco and Chicago but has since branched out into other, smaller areas.

The Memorial Concert Survey contest winner will be announced on Wednesday. The contest was sponsored by the Northern Star and the Convocation Center.

“Asians in the Media,” a discussion lead by Ben Caluguas will take place at 7 p.m. tonight in the Douglas Smart Classroom. The event is sponsored by the Asian American Resource Center.
