Car Wash at Wal-Mart this Saturday at 10 a.m. to Benefit Safe Passage
NIU student group Huskies For Hope will hold a car wash on Saturday at the DeKalb Wal-Mart. All proceeds will go directly to the DeKalb charity Safe Passage. Safe Passage helps prevent crime, drug addiction, homelessness and domestic violence. Safe Passage has served DeKalb County since 1981 and also helps in providing housing for broken families and prevention. Price of the car wash is based on donations. Deadline set for memorial suggestions
The NIU Memorial Committee has set a deadline of next Tuesday for submissions and ideas on what to do to memorialize the victims of the Feb. 14 shootings. Suggestions must be sent via e-mail to [email protected]. Michael Malone, vice president for university advancement, said the committee has received some suggestions thus far including a garden, fountain display and works of art, according to the press release.
New OneCards available
Eligible faculty and staff now can obtain their new NIU OneCards. To get the new IDs, faculty and staff members should bring their current ID cards to the OneCard office in the Holmes Student Center between 8:15 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, call 815-753-9569.
Reception to honor awarded professors in Altgeld Auditorium from 3 to 5 p.m.
