District court judge to speak at symposium
James Holderman, chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the Northern district of Illinois, is the keynote speaker at today’s 17th annual NIU Law Review Symposium: “The Modern American Jury.” The symposium is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Registration is required and available at http://law.niu.edu.
Law society to host annual auction
The Public Interest Law Society will host their 13th annual auction this Friday in the Marshall Gallery of Swen Parson Hall. Bidding for the silent auction begins at 5 p.m. with the live auction starting at 7:30 p.m. Items among the over 150 up for auction include a 42-inch flat screen television, an iPod, a Nintendo Wii and autographed sports memorabilia.
Soroity to host Laos Night
The Kappa Phi Lambda sorority is hosting a Laos Night tonight in the Stevenson Hall Smart Classroom. The event, which begins at 7 p.m., contains a presentation of traditional Laos festivities and individuals can participate in a crafts as well. For more information, call Jackie Yang at 847-877-0188.
