‘Confirm Your E-Mail’ message is spam, not from ITS

NIU is alerting students, faculty and staff about an e-mail phishing attempt that some individuals may have received. An e-mail with the following title, “Confirm Your E-Mail,” has been circulating and says that the user needs to click a link to confirm NIU e-mail account information. According to an ITS release, the e-mail is spam and individuals should not respond to the e-mail or provide any account information. The e-mail looks like an official NIU e-mail. If students have responded to the e-mail, they should change their password or contact the ITS Helpdesk at 815-753-8100.
