No charge for those who stayed in residence halls following shootings

Students who live in the residence halls will not be charged additional fees for the extra week added to the semester.
No additional charges will be assessed to students who stayed in the residence halls during the canceled school week, said Kelly Wesener, executive director of Housing and Dining.
Students who used their meal plans at any time during the week to eat at the dining halls will not receive any additional charges either, Wesener said. The additional week is being treated like a regular week and had an independent meal plan, she said.
Any dining dollars used during the canceled week will not be deducted from any other week this semester either, Wesener said.
The majority of students did not stay in the residence halls during the canceled week. Only the Dog Pound Deli in Douglas and the “All-You-Care-to-Eat” at Neptune were open during the week.
“Just as with any unanticipated expenses, Housing and Dining will make any necessary adjustments to manage its financial obligations in a fiscally responsible manner,” Wesener said.
