Log onto MyNIU by going to myniu.niu.edu and use your zID and password.
HOW TO REGISTER FOR CLASSES
1. Click on “Enrollment” on the left toolbar.
2. Click on “Enrollment Dates” to find out which day your appointment is to begin registering for classes.
3. Click on “Wish List” to begin searching through the NIU Course Catalog prior to your registration date. This takes the place of the old “Course Finder.”
4. Choose the “Search for Classes” option and click “Search” to begin searching like you would through Course Finder.
5. Choose a course subject, type in a course number and fill out any additional information necessary, and then click “Search.” You can add the class to your “Wish List” by clicking “Next.”
6. Once you are able to register for classes, you can choose classes from your Wish List and add to them to your schedule by clicking “Enrollment: Add Classes” once your registration appointment is open. You would click the “Drop Classes” or “Swap Classes” just like you did with WebConnect.
NOTE: By clicking on the Section link (labeled “00##-LEC(Sect. #)”), you can view important information about the class. Enrollment requirements and class descriptions are listed, as well as class availability.
HOW TO VIEW YOUR CURRENT CLASS SCHEDULE
1. Click on “Enrollment” on the left toolbar.
2. Click on “View My Weekly Schedule.” You should now be able to see your class schedule for this semester, Spring 2008.
HOW TO ACCEPT OR DECLINE FINANCIAL AID AWARDS
1. Click on “Campus Finances” on the left toolbar.
2. Click on “Accept/Decline” Awards.
3. If you have an offer available, click on the year in the “Aid Year” column to view and accept or decline your financial aid. Individuals will receive an e-mail in their zID e-mail account when a financial aid award is available.
HOW TO CHANGE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
1. Click on “Campus Personal Information” on the left toolbar.
2. Then click on the topic you would like to update.
HOW TO VIEW YOUR PAST GRADES
1. Click on “Academic Records” on the left toolbar.
2. Click on “View My Grades,” and then select which semester’s grades you would like to view .
3. If you click on a class on the next screen, you can get more information on the class itself from that semester, such as the number of people enrolled in the class and the description of the class.
WHAT IS “STUDENT CENTER?”
If you click on “Student Center” it will give you a rundown of your schedule for this semester as well as any holds on your account. This may be a good first page to view each time you log into MyNIU.
WHAT IS NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME?
The Degree Progress Report cannot be viewed on MyNIU at this time, but it will be available in the near future. An unofficial transcript will also be available in the near future.
OTHER FEATURES
MyNIU allows students to also view their transfer credits, apply for graduation, view advisers and sign/view Perkins Promissory Notes. These features may not be working for students currently enrolled but they will be in the near future.
