This week has been good for two NIU athletes.

Gymnast Leah Johnson was named MAC Co-Gymnast of the Week and pitcher Adam Holdenrid was named MAC West Pitcher of the Week.

Johnson won the award for the third time this season by posting an all-around score of 39.125 at the Illinois State Championships. The mark is her best of the season. It was also the second highest posted by a MAC gymnast this season.

At the meet, Johnson took third on the vault, tied for second place on the floor exercise and had a season high on the balance beam.

Holdenrid received the award after pitching a complete game against Buffalo.

In his first career complete game, the senior gave up three hits, one walk and one earned run.

So far this season, Holdenrid is 3-1 with a 2.39 ERA in four starts and has 21 strikeouts in 26.1 innings.
