DeKalb’s Public Works Operations would like to advise residents that the parking prohibition on designated snow routes that was in effect for DeKalb has been canceled. Motorists are advised to remember when snow accumulations meet or exceed two inches or more, parking is strictly prohibited on designated snow routes and motorists are also urged to use extreme caution during snow events, according to a DeKalb Public Works Department news release.

NIU’s Mortar Board Senior Honor Society is accepting applications until this Friday.

Students who are interested must have a grade point average of at least 3.2 and must be of senior status by Fall 2008. Between 50 and 60 students will be chosen.

The organization was founded in 1918.

Students can apply for a membership online at www.mortarboard.niu.edu.

The last day to register for Saturday’s trip to White Pines State Park through the NIU Outing Centre is Thursday.
