Snow doesn’t arrive on time, but will continue Wednesday

The monster snowstorm DeKalb was bracing for Tuesday night did not start as early as expected, but heavy snow is forecast for all of Wednesday.

Overnight, occasional snow and sleet is forecast, with a steady temperature around 31 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. The wind will be blustery and around 20 mph. Total nighttime snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 2 inches is possible.

During the day Wednesday, periods of snow with areas of blowing snow are forecast. The snow could be heavy at times. The temperature will fall to around 25 by 9 a.m. The wind will be blustery, at around 20 mph. New snow accumulation of 6 to 10 inches is possible.

Wednesday night calls for mostly cloudy skies, with a low temperature around 14. Winds will be blustery, with a north northwest wind at 15 to 20 mph decreasing to between 5 and 10 mph.

Thursday calls for a 40 percent chance of snow after noon. It will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 29.
