Get a Potbelly for a good cause
January 23, 2007
DeKALB | While it won’t quite be free, NIU students and DeKalb residents will be able to name their own prices for a Potbelly Sandwich Works sandwich from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.
The restaurant is teaming with the Big Brother/Big Sister program to offer sandwiches to all who make a donation.
There is no minimum or maximum on the size of the donation, said Colleen Madeya, Potbelly’s local store marketer.
“If anyone has any questions about how much to donate, we will kind of coach them along,” Madeya said.
The restaurant will have extra employees on hand to make sure people don’t wait long out in the cold.
“We have an extra crew coming in and the team always does a really good job of keeping the line moving,” Madeya said.
She did not disclose how much the event would cost the restaurant.
“It’s really not a [financial] hit,” she said. “These are always a success and by no means a lost cause.”
