Holmes Student Center falls prey to vandalism

DeKALB | A window was broken at the Holmes Student Center this weekend, causing $200 in damage.

It was discovered Saturday morning that the window in a door leading into the Carl Sandburg Auditorium had been completely shattered.

Nothing was reported stolen from the student center.

Police officials cite the incident as a random act of vandalism.

“It’s possible that somebody just walked by, broke a window and kept going, unfortunately,” said Lt. Matthew Kiederlen.

Police said the broken window was caused by two BBs, which shattered the glass panel on the door.

The door has since been boarded up; there are no suspects in the case.
