The sixth annual Grad Bash will take place today from 6 to 9 p.m. under a big white tent in the southwest corner of the Barsema Alumni and Visitors Center.

“The Grad Bash is a celebration the Alumni Association and the Student Alumni Association put on to celebrate our 2006 graduates,” said Julie Harris, assistant director of Alumni Relations.

All guests must be at least 21 years old with a valid ID to enter. Admission to the event is $15. Graduates are allowed to bring one guest, also at the cost of $15. In addition, students who registered online but did not pay for guests will be required to do so at the door.

Food and drink will be provided from Fatty’s Pub and Grille, 1312 W. Lincoln Highway, and will include sandwiches, chips, pop and beer.

This event is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The band Mike and Joe will provide entertainment for the bash.

“Mike and Joe is a very popular band and since [the event] is for graduating students, we wanted to provide entertainment they would enjoy,” Harris said.

Students can register themselves and a guest online at www.niu.edu/Alumni/gradbash.shtml or by calling 753-1452.

This year, students can pay at the door, but admission is limited to 700 students. Cash, checks and credit cards are all accepted.
