Siblings Weekend sets sail for outdoor fun, games
April 7, 2006
“Climb On Board and Sail Away” today, Saturday and Sunday with the Residence Hall Association’s cruise-themed Siblings Weekend.
All weekend there will be activities, food, games and giveaways geared toward siblings of all ages.
“We have a lot of little knick-knacks and a lot of crafts,” said Angela Zentefis, a junior business management major and programming vice president for the RHA. “We’re not doing the big prizes this year.”
Activities run from registration at 4 p.m. today until brunch Sunday morning. Indoor activities are held in Douglas and Stevenson halls while outdoor activities take place in Central Park.
“I decided to take part in Siblings Weekend because my mom came to Mom’s Weekend and I wanted to see what Sibs Weekend was about,” said sophomore geography major Monica Wojdyla, whose sister will be joining her this weekend. “It sounded exciting. I am excited about the magician show because most of the tricks that magicians do are amazing and I’d like to see them.”
But not everyone has siblings coming to visit.
“My family’s just too busy,” said Matt Kramer, a freshman mechanical engineering major. “My two sisters are in college full-time and my brother works full-time.”
