Noah will lead Florida’s arc to top
March 31, 2006
Of course this happens. I pick Florida to go down in round one, they make it to the Final Four. Makes sense.
But I’m not making that mistake again. Led by the screaming ponytail of Joakim Noah, Florida has proved it’s the best team in the land.
Look no further than Noah for a reason why Florida will win. The sophomore has blocked more shots and raised more eyebrows than any player in the dance this year.
On the defensive end, Noah and Al Horford don’t allow anything down low which hurts George Mason and possibly LSU. Plus, the Gators have depth and speed at the guard position to pressure shooters.
And if the defense is good then the offense is incredible. Horford is averaging a double-double in the tourney and everyone already knows about Noah.
But the key is the fast break. With their depth, the Gators can run and run and they do it better than any team in the country. GM won’t be able to catch its breath and only UCLA has the guards to even try to keep up.
So sorry Big Baby, and nice try George Mason, but when it comes time to cut down the nets, its going to be the Gators with the scissors.
