Kanye West to play Convo Center

By Derek Wright

Whether he is a “College Dropout” or not, Kanye West will spend at least one night on NIU’s campus.

Saturday, Nov. 12, the producer/performer will bring his brand of brash, energetic rap to the Convocation Center. The show is slated to begin at 8 p.m. with doors opening an hour earlier.

Tickets go on sale Sept. 30 and will be available through the Convo’s box office and Ticketmaster outlets. Prices range from $35 for students with a valid NIU OneCard, to $40 for the general public. There is a two ticket limit on student-price purchases.

The Grammy-winning West will share the Convo stage with fellow Chicagoan Common, as well as Fantasia and Keisha Cole.

The West show will take place less than a week after rockers 311 are scheduled to perform at the arena Nov. 6 and will cap off a two-month blitz of performances which features the likes of B.B. King, Ciara, Twista and 3 Doors Down.
