Men’s golf to hold tryouts

Tryouts for the NIU golf team will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday at the River Heights Golf Course. Participants will play 18 holes and the four lowest scores advance to a second tryout. Visit the Convocation Center, Room 216 for the necessary paperwork and show proof of a physical within the last 3 months.
Call the golf office to confirm your tee time at 753-1816. Acceptable attire is a golf shirt and shorts; no denim.
LACROSSE TEAM OUT FOR NEW PLAYERS
The NIU lacrosse team is looking for players. The club team has a 12-game intercollegiate fall schedule and is open to anyone with lacrosse experience.

SOFTBALL TEAM LOOKS FOR NEW MANAGER
The softball team needs a manager for the upcoming season. A qualified applicant is responsible, organized, skilled with Microsoft applications, and has at least 3 years of high school softball or baseball experience. Duties include daily practice set up, facility maintenance, videotaping, uniform management, meal arrangements, bookkeeping and assisting coaching staff with pre-game and practice warm up. NIU BASEBALL TO HOLD ALUMNI WEEKEND
The third annual baseball alumni weekend is so grand it starts in September and ends in October.
Alumni of the NIU baseball program will hit the fairways at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 30 at Old Oak Golf Course in Genoa. Social festivities, better known as the 19th hole, begin around 6 p.m. The $125 fee includes golf, cart, prizes, food and beverage at the turn.
The weekend concludes Oct. 1 with the alumni baseball game. First pitch is at 10 a.m. on Ralph Mackenzie field.
