Brian McKnight: Gemini
February 17, 2005
The well-seasoned Brian McKnight sets out to continue his legacy as the “King of Romance” on his newest release, “Gemini.”
With almost 15 years to show for his talent as a singer, writer and musician, there isn’t a doubt about whether this album is worth buying.
He may be in his later 30s, but his talent seems to get better with age by showing the duality of his zodiac sign.
McKnight’s list of accolades are: NAACP Image Award, Soul Train Music Award and American Music Award.
He is definitely the ladies’ man and even cool to the guys when they want to be romantic.
The album’s lyrics are strong and he combines hip-hop, doo-wop, jazz and flava from Talib Kweli to illustrate a new dimension of who he is.
“What We Do Here” is a popular radio hit that talks about the importance of intimate secrecy.
His presence is evident in other countries such as the UK and Japan, where he has gone double platinum several times.
So, regardless of the language barrier, there’s just something about Mr. McKnight that shows he isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
