Mario: Turning Point
January 20, 2005
After two years out of the loop, teen heartthrob Mario returns legal (he’s 18 now) and ready to broaden his fan base.
The album title couldn’t be tailored any better to suit the new clean-cut and sophisticated look.
The Motown prodigy’s style is a mix between Michael Jackson, Usher and Ginuwine with his own flair to set it off.
Mario’s album already has topped the charts with the first release, “Let Me Love You,” and five other tracks will be faves to more than teens.
The track creates a personable song to a girl who has a guy who doesn’t treat her right: “You should let me love you/ Let me be the one to/ Give you everything you want and need/ Baby good love and protection/ Make me your selection/ Show you the way love’s supposed to be.”
Despite the many stars like Ashlee Simpson and lip-synching fiascos, Mario recently proved his live, raw, singing talent on “Showtime At The Apollo” and even gave the audience some of his smooth dance moves for icing on the cake.
To say Mario is well on his way is an understatement. “Hey, Usher, look out!” might be more appropriate.
