Star’s coverage makes difficult time even worse

This response is regard to the articles written by Nina Gougis about the student that was arrested for sexual assault. I live on the floor that “the incident” occurred on, and on behalf of myself and others on my floor, I’d like to let you know what you are doing to at least 10 people on this floor. Trevor is a good friend to many on the floor; we care about him dearly. For this happening to be in the Northern Star (especially in the fashion that it was) is absolutely absurd. As a floor, we have been completely ripped apart socially and emotionally. Just when people started opening their doors again and talking to one another again, this article was released, and now we’re back to square one. Only now it’s worse. Not only does everyone have to deal with this on the floor, but now it’s in our classrooms and the buzz at our after-class activities. This situation is horrible enough for the people around the persons involved in the situation, but imagine what it’s like for them. Trevor is still going to class, and so is the other person involved. I’m sure the last thing that they want (at least Trevor) is publicity on the subject and people asking them a million questions. Nina Gougis knows what I think of her article and knows of all the corrections she should have made because I took that up with her personally.

Please let us move on as a floor.
