NASA scientist to speak at Barsema today

Michael Greenisen, a NASA scientist and NIU alumnus, will speak at 5:30 p.m. today in the Barsema Hall Auditorium.
Greenisen plans to speak about activities underway at NASA to prepare astronauts for a flight to Mars.
Students will be able to get information on careers with NASA.
Promod Vohra, acting dean of the College of Engineering and Engineering Technology, said Greenisen has helped the college develop a relationship with NASA.
“[Greenisen] is actively trying to bring employment and research opportunities for faculty and students at NIU,” Vohra said.
Greenisen is the International Space Station human life sciences scientist and creates exercises, studies bone density and aerobic capacity connected with long stays in space. He also researches methods to retain muscle-mass in space.
