The way to Sesame Street will be through the doors of the NIU Convocation Center come November.

Sesame Street Live will have three performances at the Convo on Nov. 16 and 17.

Elmo, Zoe, Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, Cookie Monster and other Sesame Street characters will perform “Elmo’s Coloring Book.”

Elmo and friends will perform musical numbers as they travel into drawings of ancient Egypt.

Tickets for the shows went on sale Saturday.

“We did a ticket pre-sell a week early,” said Kevin Selover, marketing manager for the Convo Center. “We are expecting three great shows.”

The stage for Sesame Street will feature an accelerated west-end design so people can be closer to the characters.

No official ticket sales numbers have been released, but tickets have sold well so far, Selover said, particularly for the daytime performance on Nov. 17.

“We get a lot of classes for those shows,” Selover said.
