This week’s Playback comes from sophomore marketing major Ana Flieller. These are her favorite songs that would make her compilation CD.
1. “Gone Away” – The Offspring. “They’ve been my favorite band since I was little and in grammar school. This is a pretty good CD with a lot of my favorite songs on it.”
2. “Goodbye Forever” – Alkaline Trio. “This is a very emotional song, and I just like it a lot.”
3. “Breathe On Me” – Britney Spears. “[It] is just a fun song to listen to. It reminds me to have a good time whenever I hear it.”
4. “Roses” – Outkast. “That’s a favorite song of my friends and me. We listened to it a lot this summer.”
5. “Sorry About That” – Alkaline Trio. “That’s an ex-boyfriend song. It makes me think of a couple exes of mine.”
6. “Miss You” – The Rolling Stones. “This song makes me think of my mom because it’s one of her favorite songs. I listen to it here since I don’t get to see her a lot while I’m at school.”
7. “Here Comes the Sun” – The Beatles. “My dad used to play this song for us all the time when we were little.”
8. “This Time Imperfect” – AFI. “The lyrics to this song are great.”
9. “Infatuation” – Christina Aguilera. “I like singing it in the shower.”
10. “Spiderwebs” – No Doubt. “This song reminds me of my younger days in school. It’s just a cool song in general.”
11. “All Downhill From Here” – New Found Glory. “I like that type of pop-punk music. [It] is a really great band to see live.”
12. “Empty Apartment” – Yellowcard. “This is a slower, mellower song that’s much more deep in meaning.”
13. “Ghetto Musick” – Outkast. “This song reminds me of my good friends at home because we would listen to it before we would go out all the time this summer.”
14. “Spare Me the Details” – The Offspring. “This song is very good at explaining how it feels when someone cheats on you … or screws you over.”
