Parachuter killed in DeKalb County
June 21, 2004
A man was killed Saturday after parachuting from a plane over southern DeKalb County.
Eduardo Acosta, 43, of West Chicago, had problems with his parachute and began to spiral before landing in a field, DeKalb County Sheriff’s police said.
Acosta was participating in a jump sponsored by the Chicagoland Skydiving Center in rural Hinckley.
The Hinckley Fire Department took him to Valley West Hospital in Sandwich, where he was pronounced dead.
The DeKalb County Coroner’s office and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s office are investigating the incident.
